Locally founded, Auke Lake Preschool & Afterschool Program cares for children ages 3 months - 12 years in Juneau, Alaska. Auke Lake Preschool is a Comprehensive Childcare Campus. By joining our team, you will become part of a network of Childhood Professionals who are passionate about supoorting children in the most formative years of their life. Our staff are champions; they play a valuable role in the lives of children and find fulfillment watching the children in their care grow up and become successful in skills that they helped them master. The learning syle in our program is play-based, which makes our work so much fun!

Early Childhood Educator
Early Childhood Educators are responsible to provide holistic, quality and inclusive care to children between the ages of birth to 5 at an esteemed childcare center in Juneau, Alaska.
Early Childhood Educators support child care through facilitating daily activities, building social connection with children and promoting their learning and development through play. Early Childhood Educators are responsible for maintaining safety of the group of children by following State Licensing requirements. All experience levels are encouraged to apply. We provide onboarding training, continued education and many opportunities for upward movement and professional development for all of our Early Childhood Educator staff.

Afterschool/OST Youth Educator
The Youth Leader for the Afterschool Program guides the overall philosophy in daily functions of the youth program in our center. They are responsible for classroom management, family communications & relations and supervises childcare staff while implementing program policy and structure. The Youth Program Leader is responsible for overseeing in-house center activities while following our internal structures and 4-H club programming. The Youth leader often supports other classrooms in the morning hours.
TEACH: Teens as Educators & Classroom Helpers
Classroom helpers are responsible to provide holistic, quality and inclusive care to children between the ages of birth to 13 at an esteemed childcare center in Juneau, Alaska. Classroom helpers support daily activities, build social connection with children and promote learning and development through play. All experience levels are encouraged to apply. Must be age 16-17 to apply. Classroom helpers have flexible schedules, have opportunities for seasonal employment and could earn school credits!

Infant Educator
Infant educators will support the youngest children as they become familiar to group-settings. There are two infant classrooms are seperated by developmental stages and are centered on connection-based and sensorimotor style learning. Educators focus on building bonds outside the home, positive attachments and serve & return techniques.Toddler Educator
We adore the energy our toddler teachers bring to the classroom! Toddler educators provide a learning environment where toddlers can connect and experience the process of their space in the world around them. Activities in the toddler classroom are child-led and founded on play and fun!Early Preschool Educator
We believe children are the best teachers, and in our child-led play based early preschool classroom, children get to learn from their peers, early preschool teachers and environment. Early Preschool educators give introductory exposure to academia and all activities are focused on social-emotional development and learning.Preschool Educator
Our preschool teachers implement our unique curriculum designed by professional educators from our organization. The foundation of curriculum in the preschool room is social-emotional development to help children fortify self-help skills, strengthening relationships and exposure to academia.PreK Educator
The PreK educator is an expert in social-emotional development theory, play-based learning, school readiness frameworks and curriculum developed by Little Moon Whole Child Foundation to create a holistic and enriching learning environment. Our PreK educators prepare the whole child for their next phase in life in a school environment.Afterschool Educator
Afterschool educators work with children ages 5 thru 13 to provide quality intervention for development and guidance. Auke Lake Afterschool Program educators offer quality care services for children who are over the age of 4 stimulating learning domains using project based activities with an inclusive, holistic, and quality approach to wellbeing, connection, relationship, and education outside of their regular school calendar.
